A Simple Life: Malin Elmlid

A beautiful interview with Swedish designer Malin Elmlid of Wood Wood.

“Malin strives for quality in everything that she does, both personally and professionally, which is evident in the way she holds herself, and conducts her business. Malin sets the example that elegance and creativity can be shown in various ways, whether it be fashion design, her sales job, traveling Antwerp or baking bread and exchanging it with friends.”

What an incredible, simple way to live. See more of her lifestyle shots below and read her full interview on Freunde von Freunden.

In all of this snow I’m looking for some good projects to do while I’m stuck indoors. This idea from Real Simple should keep me busy! Now which books do I use…  See the full post and instructions on how to make your own, here.

m. design interiors

I told you I’ve been addicting to interior design portfolios lately! After finding out about M. Design Interiors from One Kings Lane, I find myself scrolling through Molly Luetkemeyer’s residential portfolio when I should be doing something productive… I love the metallic couch and huge wall graphic in the family room above.

I can’t get enough of this bold pattern in a hallway nook.

That striped ceiling would be tough to create, but I love the finished look.

This one is just plain awesome. Red chairs, elephant portraits and yellow mirrors. I’m home.

See more of her interior design magic on M. Design Interior’s site and more of my favorites after the break.

Want: Bike Shelf

A simple, sleek and practical shelf for your bike. I don’t even bike, but I would start just to have this pretty piece in my home. Purchase one for $270 or $300 on Knife & Saw.

IKEA? Really?

After spending the weekend in Philadelphia for my 3-year anniversary with my beau, we just had to stop at IKEA since he’s not even 10 minutes away from it. I’ve heard a lot of complaining about IKEA’s new “country” look, and I have to say I had some reservations about the new catalog. Seeing the styling in person and walking through the rooms, however, both my boyfriend and I picked out more pieces we wanted to purchase than ever before.

With the vintage-shop/thrift-store/paint-it-to-make-it-work attitude, I found my style fitting in well with the new IKEA pieces (or at least many of them) and they’ll fit perfectly in what I hope to make a home sweet home. See more of their inspiration on their sweedish blog here and tell me what you think. I know it doesn’t fit everyone, but finally IKEA fits me better than ever.
